Abdulaziz Ahmed Abdulaziz Humanitarian Foundation sponsored the World Sight Day 2017 activities organized by the National Prevention of Blindness Committee (NPBC) on Thursday, October 12, 2017, with this year’s theme being “Make Vision Count”. More than 25 activities were carried out as part of the annual awareness campaign in several Saudi cities.
World Sight Day is an international event observed on the second Thursday of every October, with varying themes issued every year aligning with the World Health Organization’s strategy to combat preventable blindness and call to action.
This year’s theme was “Make Vision Count”, underlying the importance of global cooperation to stimulate awareness regarding blindness and vision impairment and address this growing public health and development challenge, as well as provide easily accessible and comprehensive eye care for all.
