Abdulaziz Ahmed Abdulaziz Humanitarian Foundation served as the official sponsor of World Glaucoma Week 2019 activities, organized by the Saudi Ophthalmological Society on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at the King Salman Social Center.
The activities included a race walk and several awareness lectures and seminars to raise awareness of glaucoma, which is the third largest cause of avoidable blindness in the Kingdom, and stressing the importance of periodic and regular eye tests for early diagnosis and initiation of appropriate treatment to avoid complications of the disease.
The activities also included free tests for glaucoma, awareness spreading in many government agencies and institutions, educational brochures, and informational videos about glaucoma.
